The city has a great potential for tourism development, a good integration of cultures and communities, Hungarian, Romanian and German and a 'lively nightlife ... at a cost of about € 20 total tickets booked several months ago on the site of Wizzair so we spent a fun weekend in a city not exactly located on major tourist routes.
My advice lowcost is to organize the weekend in advance starting from the offerings on the websites of lowcost airlines, and the choice will fall even destinations not "popular" but not very interesting or funny.
